On First Tee Night Out, our team doesn’t wait for kids to come to us — we go to them.

You’ll find our staff and volunteers loading up vans with meals, setting up tables in neighborhood parks and community spaces, and greeting families by name. What starts as a simple dinner quickly turns into something more: conversations, laughter, high-fives, and kids lingering just to talk with a coach a little longer. Sharing a meal breaks down walls. It creates trust. It reminds kids and families that someone showed up — just for them.

These nights are about more than food. They’re about connection. As families eat, they meet the mentors behind First Tee – Greater Wilmington and learn how their child can be part of something bigger — a place to belong, grow, and be seen. Since launching in 2023, and thanks to the support of local businesses, we’ve served more than 3,000 meals, but the real impact can’t be counted. It’s in the relationships formed and the doors opened. Because at First Tee, golf is only a small part of what we do. Our mission has always been bigger than the game — showing up for our community and helping young people imagine futures they didn’t know were possible.
