What is Girls Golf?
LPGA*USGA Girls Golf (Girls Golf) is the only national junior golf program that specializes in providing girl-friendly environments for juniors to learn the game of golf. We’re the experts in making the game of golf fun, and we teach more than just stance and swing; we teach girls valuable life skills like confidence and perseverance.
Each of the 415 Girls Golf sites helps prepare girls ages 5 – 17 for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game while also inspiring them to feel confident, build positive self-esteem, and live active and healthy lives through The Five E’s of Girls Golf.

How often does Girls Golf meet?
We typically meet once a month and during the summer, twice a month. All Girls Golf sessions are held at Wilmington Municipal Golf Course. You must RSVP to attend.
Who runs this program?
Dana Schoenbach and Brittany Zachrich of the First Tee of Greater Wilmington organize all Girls Golf events and assisted with First Tee Greater Wilmington female volunteers. You can contact Dana with questions via email, [email protected]

Any female ages 5-17
How do I register?
You can register here! All 3 of the steps below MUST be completed for your golfer to participate in Girls Golf. Follow the steps below to properly sign-up:
- Download the Girls Golf App from the app store and create an account. Search for the First Tee Greater Wilmington site and register your golfer for the 2023 calendar year LPGA*USGA Girls golf Membership. (annual)
- Purchase 2023 First Tee Girls Golf Membership* for $40 via the Parent Registration Portal (annual)
- RSVP for each individual Girls Golf event via the “Click to RSVP” links below. (monthly)
Once you have registered for the memberships, you will only need to complete the individual Google Forms throughout the year.

Past Events
January 19th : 4:15 – 5:15 PM – Welcome to 2023! Goal Setting in the New Year
- Human Bingo : Icebreaker that requires participants to physically move, communicate with each other & get to know each other
- New Years Resolution : Participants choose a goal they’d like to set for themselves and create a 5 step plan to achieve it
February 13th : 4:00 – 5:15 PM – GALentine’s Day!
- Partner Putting for Duckies : Putt as a team to boxes (4×4 Grid) to collect rubber ducks
- Relay Race : Work with your team to tee up a golf ball, SNAG target putting & Swiss Cheese run
- Cookie Decorating!
March 24th : 4:30 – 5:30 PM – March Madness!!
- Guest Speaker – Coach Karen Barefoot, a nationally-known women’s basketball coach who has built successful programs at multiple universities. A Wilmington local dedicated to inspiring and motivating the next generation.
- Putting Tournament – March Madness style putting tournament
April 21st : 4:30 – 5:30 PM – Spring Blowout!!
- Golf Course Scavenger Hunt – Girls broke into teams, grabbed a golf bag and tried to be the first team to fill up and find the items on the Bingo Board!
- Giant Flowers bloomed in our fairways! Participants chipped golf balls through the petals!
May 12th : 6:30 – 7:30 PM – Mommy & Me Shop Party @ Athleta
- Memory Jars – Participants used small slips of paper to write down memories with mom. They were folded and put into a mason jar to be opened by mom on Mother’s Day
- Shop Party hosted at Athleta in Mayfaire where each individual was given a discount on an article of clothing
June 2nd : School’s Out For Summer event Cancelled due to Rain
