Programming Financial Assistance/Scholarship Policy
Purpose
At First Tee Greater Wilmington, we are committed to ensuring that all young people have access to our program, regardless of financial circumstances. We believe First Tee is for every kid and strive to remove financial barriers so participants can benefit from our life skills and golf programming.
First Tee Greater Wilmington will NEVER turn a child away due to inability to pay.
Availability of Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available in the form of full or partial scholarships for:
- Program registration fees
- Junior Memberships
- Other associated program costs
Priority consideration may be given to:
- Families with demonstrated financial need
- Participance who qualify for Federal Free or Reduced Lunch
- Active Duty US Military families
We encourage all families to apply if cost is a barrier. Families who are able are encouraged to contribute a portion of program fees, as this helps sustain scholarship availability for others in need.
Application Process
Financial assistance is requested during the registration process and must be completed as follows:
- Create and/or Login to your account via the Parent Registration Portal
- Add the desired program(s) to your cart
- Proceed to checkout and complete participant information
- Select the option to apply for financial assistance
- Complete all required questions
- Email [email protected] letting our staff know you have applied.
- Await determination and follow instructions to finalize registration
Award Determination
Scholarship awards are based on:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Program capacity and available funding
- Completeness and timelines of application
Awards may cover full or partial program costs and are granted at the discretion of First Tee Greater Wilmington staff.
Participant Expectations (Attendance Policy)
To ensure program integrity and maximize impact:
- Scholarship recipients are expected to be actively engaged in the program
- Participants must attend a minimum of two thirds of a program
Failure to meet attendance expectations may affect eligibility for future financial assistance.
Limitations & Conditions
- Scholarships apply only to the specified session/program
- Financial aid does not guarantee placement in a full class
- All standard program policies (behavior, attendance, registration deadlines) apply
- Scholarships are non-transferable and have no cash value
